September 12, 2016: Students need to have an updated METRO 2016-2017 Student Transit Pass.

In August, the 2016-2017 METRO Student Transit Passes were delivered to Casco Bay, Portland and Deering High Schools.

If they didn’t have a chance over the summer, students (in grades 10, 11 and 12) can pick up their 2016-2017 METRO Transit Pass at their school this week.Students entering 9th grade at Portland’s High Schools were given their passes during the last week of (middle) school in June.

We expect that there will be some students who do not have passes during the first few days of school (new students just enrolled, students who have lost their pass, etc.).

 To ensure that students (and schools) have time to distribute passes and work with METRO staff to process, print and distribute passes to these students,

METRO will have a grace period this week and next.

 Students can use METRO service to and from school without a pass tomorrow through next Friday, September 9.  All students are expected to have an updated 2016-2017 METRO Student Transit Pass by September 12.

 The policy for replacement passes has been updated.  If a student loses their pass and needs a replacement.

1st pass lost: FREE

2nd pass lost: $5
