Each year, the Maine Association of Math Leagues sponsors five regular season meets and one State Meet for mathletes in over 90 public and private Maine high schools. All schools compete on the same day at the same time at various locations throughout the state. On Wednesday, February 4th, Portland High School served as a host school for the fourth meet of the season, hosting 120 students from 9 high schools.
Top scorers for PHS were Adrian Postolache, Ben Freedman and Chessa Hoekstra who each achieved a perfect score in one of the five individual rounds. Overall the team scored 181 points putting them in 5th place in our division.
The PHS Math Team looks forward to the fifth meet which will be hosted by Waynflete School on Wednesday, March 11th.
